DENTURES
CREATION OF A DENTURE:
Dentures are made in several steps to make sure that they fit well.

1. The upper and lower ridges.

2. Impressions are made.

3. The models are poured in stone.

4. Wax rims are made to approximate where the height of the ridges are. These are made on harder plastic trays.

6. The rims are tried in the mouth, carved to fit and upper and lower jaw relationships are made of the two arches.

6. The models are mounted on an articulator. The plaster models are used to support the plastic rims to create the denture.

7. A shade is selected for the teeth.

8. Teeth are placed in position.

9. The teeth are tried in the mouth.

Once the teeth fit properly, they are processed in a hard tissue colored acrylic and then delivered to the patient in a final appointment to check the fit, and bite and make sure the speech is not affected by the relationship of the upper to lower teeth.
